1918 – Helen is regularly abused by her pastor father, with no help or rescue from her mother. After being pushed over the edge she learns she as the ability to possess other bodies but can’t control it. But once she can…..

2018- Cassie Meadows “awakens” in the body of a man (Randy Davis) covered in his murdered wife’s blood. After being captured, no one believes she isn’t the husband and she ends up in a mental institution. While there she meets a man names Jimmy who recognizes his body (he claims to be the real Randy). They realize they have to put a stop to what is happening but how can they do that locked up?

This was a new to me take on the supernatural thriller/mystery. Then add in a body swap storyline with a spirit bent on revenge. What happens when a person is so abused that they are pushed over the edge until they have the ability to posses any body they wish in order to take revenge on the world that did nothing to help them. You want to feel bad for Helen but how do you feel bad for a soul that’s only out for vengeance? This book definitely has its dark moments. I enjoyed the different take on the possession aspect of the story. Its a fairly quick read at 230 pages.

I give it 3.75 of 5 stars.

Thank you to Rachel’s Random Resources and author Cynthia Hilston for the review copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own.
